About the Program
JMC- Journalism and Mass Communication program is extensive, integrating various disciplines to prepare students for a dynamic media landscape. It encompasses traditional journalism, digital media, public relations, and advertising, while also incorporating specialized fields like animation and graphic design, digital marketing, and web portal journalism. Students will learn to create engaging multimedia content, leverage social media strategies, and utilize graphic design principles to enhance storytelling. The program also emphasizes digital marketing techniques, equipping students with skills to effectively promote content and engage audiences online. With a focus on web portal journalism, students will explore how to deliver news and information through interactive and user-friendly platforms. Program/Course Description
- Bachelor’s Degree: A 3-year undergraduate program (B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication) provides foundational knowledge and skills in media practices, reporting, and communication theories.
- Master’s Degree: A 2-year postgraduate program (M.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication) offers advanced study, specializing in areas like digital media, public relations, and investigative journalism.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to higher education, allowing for flexible pathways in obtaining degrees and certifications in Journalism and Mass Communication.

- A person who has passed the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) of the Board of School Education, Haryana or an Examination as equivalent thereto, securing not less than 45% marks in the aggregate, with English as one of the subjects, shall be eligible to seek admission to BA (Journalism and Mass Communication)

MEDIA & EDITING LAB
The Media Production Lab is geared towards students with audio-visual projects to work and gain experience using software for audio, photo, and video editing. A course in Media Production provides the skills required for careers in the vibrant realms of television, radio, film, digital media, and commerce. This course goes beyond theoretical knowledge, offering hands-on, practical training that empowers students to become adept in the various facets of media production.
